It is important to remember that you can’t trust the “from” address on e-mail as it can be spoofed (masking the real sender). If you didn’t expect a message, link, or attachment from someone, ask yourself why you should trust that it really came from the apparent sender. Also look at the type of attachment, is it a .exe or .zip file, then use extreme caution. For those type of files are programs that will run on your computer or contain programs within the file. When in doubt, it’s a good idea to call and verify that they sent you the message with the link or attachment.
